Ruger Bolt Assembly question.

My father was given a Ruger M77 Mark II .270 Win. The Rifle is in fantastic condition, stainless barrel comp stock. The only issue is the rifle is missing the entire bolt assembly.

Do any of you know where I can order a complete bolt assembly so I can get this rifle working for him?

A word to the wise: Have your local police run that serial number. There's not a whole lot of reasons for a gun not to have a bolt.

I haven't looked at that specific part, but Ruger is very finicky about some parts. There are many parts they will not sell, even to gunsmiths. My guess is that bolt is one of them, and you will probably have to send it back to Ruger.

even if ruger did sell it over the counter i would still send the rifle in for the factory to make sure it fit and fired safely....

I betting that Ruger won't sell you a bolt assy.

It would be a bad idea to stick a bolt in that gun that is not fitted to it.
