Snakes are out. Watch your step.

Man I have seen more snakes this hunt than I ever have my entire life in north Ga.

I’ve seen some sorta snake almost every day, my brother saw a timber rattler, I’ve seen two copperheads (probably the same snake, we were in the same area) my wife ALMOST stepped on it, pretty sure her boot tip tapped it, she jumped back and was slightly frantic for a second.
Man I love finding snakes in the summer. Their numbers are in decline it seems over the past few years. Around 2015 we were still seeing huge dens of them along the Appalachian Trail but it seems like the weekend warriors keep blasting their whereabouts on the Internet to hundreds of thousands of people. A lot of dens have been either killed off or completely abandoned, but off-trail they seem to be doing ok

This post seems oddly familiar.
Oh yeah, it’s every single hunting forum or social media account driving up hunter numbers and spot burning places on the internet, lol

I see a few rattlers in the summer, never while hunting.
Thankfully.
I’d like that trend to continue, lol

This was the only timber that I saw last year just a couple of weeks before bow season opened. It was literally crossing the rock face in the exact spot where I saw a large copperhead the previous fall, while walking out one night over the top after bow hunting .

That`s a fine looking snake right there.

I "relocated" 4 timber rattlesnakes from my yard last year. One was under the back porch and another bit my dog. I hope we see fewer this summer.

Here's a handful I got to see this past summer. I love spending time with them when I get the opportunity. Gonna start bringing my better camera when they come back out again

That is funny those 3 little heads looking out from that log. Make me pull out my snake boots at this pace. Nights here in WNC getting warmer. Out walking the dog other night and dog ran up to rock wall and i could smell it.
