had a stress test in Dublin, ga on 6/13. The doctor's office is telling me it will be 4 to 6 weeks before I get results. Has anyone else had a similar response and does anyone know why would it take that long.
Either through exercise or chemical induced stress they load up your heart to see if it can carry the load imposed. Yes, that’s a long time. The hospital Mrs Ruger works at has them done in a shift as they have their own equipment and specialist. What the heck is a stress test? Seams like you know when your stressed. How do they take it? I would think it would be instant unless it has to be looked at by a specialist.

Just found out what these are for. Good Luck on the results. I bet you get them sooner.had a stress test in Dublin, ga on 6/13. The doctor's office is telling me it will be 4 to 6 weeks before I get results. Has anyone else had a similar response and does anyone know why would it take that long.
Short of breath, chest pain, typical cardiac stuff. Mrs is a cardiac critical care clinician.Interesting. What causes someone to get this test?
Stress tests are not very reliable. A few years ago my uncle failed one so they sent him for a cath and everything was normal. And I know someone else who passed one and kept having symptoms and was covered up with blockages when they did a heart cath.Had a stress test a couple years ago. Took a day or 2. By the way, I had a false positive on mine. Went in and had a heart Cath procedure and the cardiologist said my heart was was great and didn’t need anything including an aspirin.
Cath is not a guarantee to heart health. It just means no blockages. You could have a clear cath and be in bad heart failure.Stress tests are not very reliable. Correct. And the doctor thought my uncle had blockages due to his symptoms and failing a stress test. But the cath showed him clear.Cath is not a guarantee to heart health. It just means no blockages. You could have a clear cath and be in bad heart failure.
Good for him, very glad to hear it.Correct. And the doctor thought my uncle had blockages due to his symptoms and failing a stress test. But the cath showed him clear.
Thanks. It's been a few years since that happened. Stress tests just don't appear to be very reliable from what I've seen.Good for him, very glad to hear it.
It should actually be part of a battery of test to determine the exact issue. I had to go through this myself a few years back. An ultrasound will show if each parts pumping, Cath to look for blockages, Enhanced MRI to look for mechanical problems. Allowed me to get on meds and live a normal life after some issues.Thanks. What is the target heart rate? My heart fluctuates between 43 and 150 beats per minute throughout the day, often with nothing strenuous involved. I wear one of those watches to keep up with it. My regular doctor referred me to a cardiologist when her EKG said my heart rate was at 43 in the exam room. I never went. But if I do go and end up on the treadmill, is the target like 200 or something crazy?I know of three people that died during the test. My cousin was one of them. I had one in my 40s and they couldn’t get my heart rate to the target goal on a treadmill……..my highs and calves were burning up though.
they have a chart that they go by according to age etc. My target rate was 170What is the target heart rate?
