There is a truck (actually a trailer) up at the shack in the hills called Heavenly Hoagies that primarily focuses on Steak and Cheeses. The best that I have ever had. They come to the Circle K parking lot on Wednesdays from 11-5 and have a line waiting all day long.

Homemade Italian bread and fresh meat and vegetables that include Oliverio Peppers (the best that I have ever had). Looks very similar.

We haven't done much interesting lately. This isn't either, but figured I'd add it as evidence of my old and fat trajectory. Some homegrown cabbage, onion and garlic with homemade sausage and cobbler would be bad enough, but we have sweet tater soufflé, Brussel sprouts with bacon, coleslaw, leftover hushpuppies, and purple hull peas all in the fridge. One spoon of everything will fill the plate quick.

Sunday. Found some pork belly and chayote squash both marked down. I grilled some and she pan fried some. Pineapple slices and jalapeño poppers. Tried a bite of the squash raw and peeled. Not sure if it was in my head or not but it made my tongue tingle from that sap. Not a lot of flavor raw or grilled. Pan fried was best. Pork belly was good both ways.20240317_180506.jpg20240317_183159.jpg20240317_190351.jpg20240317_191912.jpg

The Nurse had a tough day and not knowing the Chili was on sent a text and requested we go out so she could get a margarita. She wanted to hit, you guessed it, Chilis.20240307_174007.jpgI had a bowl for lunch next day.20240308_124324.jpg
