Did you reload anything today #4

Loaded up 200 Missouri Bullet 230 RN Hi-Tek coated 45 ACP yesterday using N310 powder. Did 250 Saturday night. Brother took that batch home with him. I let him load up about 150 of those, 1st time he has ever ran the machine. I watched closely.

Forgot to mention a couple things… my son had some deal at school midday. Teacher said he could roll out afterwards. Weather was way too nice for school and definitely too nice for work so that’s how we got to the range at lunch. He wanted to shoot his 223 lefty so grabbed that with some 69 BTHPs over Benchmark.

Failed to mention that my sighters (Norma factory) were going crazy high… like missing the target.

I just put on an Area 419 Brake I got from another dude and these were 150s (not 175s I had the rifle dialed in on). I was baffled for a few more shots before I realized the scope was still dialed 3.5 mil high from shooting at distance ::ke:.

Fixed that problem pretty quick then went on to testing.

A fellow club member came over to show me his new Garmin chrono. We set it next to my Labradar and I gotta say it is sweet. Didn’t miss a single shot (lab missed about 3) and it’s crazy small. All the measurements were really close - sometimes within 0.2 fps so that was good.

Overall and great break with my youngest (and puppy in the truck of course). I’ll definitely load up some more around that 45.5 grain mark… maybe one more round of testing but I’d like to start leaving well enough alone on some of these guns.

Didn't reload, but got the last of the components in to let me hand-load for my newly acquired Savage 99 in 300 Savage. All set to go to the range this weekend, and have some brass to tumble and re-load.

Today was a .45 and CFE-P day.

100 .45 Colt with 250gr Berry’s flat point over 8.6gr

600 .45 ACP with 230 Berry’s round nose over 6.5gr

Next week will be 10mm brass prep. My friend that I load with has almost all the parts needed to assemble his 10mm AR carbine. It will be time get stocked up for him.

Did y’all see the new 400 Legend? One of my latest gun mags had it.

Don’t know if I’m delusional but it sure seems like there’s been more new cartridges out in the last ten years than I ever recall.

Still believe a guy can do well with (1) 22LR, (2) 223/5.56, (3) 243, and (4) 308/30-06 in the safe.

I made some more empty .350 Legend cases after work. I also zeroed the scope on my .350 AR in the process. In the process. In the process, I also learned that 100 rounds of 350 legend is about all my bad shoulder will take.

Useles Billy ain’t got nothing on ME !
Finished loading up 106 rounds of 44 mag the other night, which will finish off the first firing of two bags of Starline brass... 91 pcs w/ Berry's 240gr & 8.0 gr HP-38. 15 pcs w/240gr XTP & H110 (22.3gr x 10, 22.8gr x 5) w/ a heavy crimp. Costs more to shoot the H110, but I sure do love the fireball.

Bought a used 700 that shot three inch patterns with my favorite factory hunting .308 ammo. After checking all the screws, I loaded my old faithful 150 grain Sierra Prohunter bullets over xx.x grains of IMR 4064, lit off by a Winchester LRP, and seated to an oal of 2.770 inches. What do you know, the rifle doesn’t shoot too bad and not too great at 1.5 moa, when it is being fed components harder to find around here than a duck that can’t swim. I wonder how many rifles collecting dust across our land could benefit from hand loading.
