Getting the Garden Ready

We got hammered with rain this afternoon in West Schley County. My wife sent me a snapchat and it was dumping buckets at the house, I am 12 miles west at work and we didn't get a drop.

Summer squash and Ford hooks are coming on in good. My brandywine plants are growing quick too.

SC that looks great.
Way ahead of mine.
Thank you sir!

We started everything early in cups and hardened them outside while it warmed up on a big rack just outside our hallway door to the back porch. My wife is the greenthumb of the house for sure. I just listen and learn as we go, that's been going on for years with plants. Haha

I believe starting everything like we did this year really helped things get started and being strong and healthy!

I believe we may eat the first zucchini and some squash out of the garden tonight. Several of the Okra plants are getting stronger and blowing up. I've got to go out of town all week and my wife said she's eating vegetables without me. Haha

I'm waiting for the peppers to shoot up soon also.

Finally got some carrots to do something using the method mentioned somewhere above. I was about to give up on them in GA clay. I'll try to remember and do an improved version next February. Grabbed enough for supper and will try to watch and figure out how to tell when they all need to be pulled.

Those are fine carrots for the type of soil that you have. They’ll taste ten times better than what comes out of the supermarket.

Guess I was lucky. Neighbor a mile away lost two barns and some trees!
