I put this in the camp so everyone’s ideas will be ok.
We went and looked at a job today. Big job. 750,000 dollar hone on the lake. They just bought it. Looks like 2 acres or more to mow. Hedges need trimming. Limbs in yard. Back yard needs the same areas need weed killer. Total job.
What would y’all think. Hours to do. 2 zero turns. 2 weed eaters blower. Hedge trimmer.
4 peeps doing the work.
What per hour. Or perhaps job would you think.
It’s not in bad shape but needs sone attention in areas.
The house maybe more in value. They want us every 2 weeks.

I think the 1st time it’s a 6 hour job. May as well as at all day.
We did a overgrown job earlier. Small lot. It took us close to 4 hours. 4 peeps. I say then it was a give away.
80.00 bucks plus a 20 tip. My son in law thought we hit the lotto.
I spent 50 in fuel. Mowers truck.
None of us took any money out of it.
I laughter to my self.
I don’t know where the money is now.
Anyway ideas.

6 hours X 4 peeps 24 man-hours X $40-50 an hour Plus expenses.

Second time a little less but there will always be trimming in the future, sticks on the ground, catching the clippings or mulching?

When I used to do this kind of stuff, I found that I rarely overbid a job for those type of people, but often underbid one. If you can't make a gooooood profit, why do it? Do a really, really, really good job, but charge the dickens out of them for it. Next thing you know, their neighbors will be calling you.

I mow 2.5 ac by myself in 1.75 hrs with one zturn. I don't know what the going rates are around here but there are a thousand lawn services around here and I know several people that do it and they are so busy they bid high hoping not to get the job but end up with it.

I agree if you aren't making a profit why do it.

I seem to be in line with what y’all are saying.
I was thinking 40 to 50 per man times how many hours for a jam up job.

Great reply’s.

Figure at least 3x your expenses.

My old Sgt does lawn care, I havent talked to him lately but 4 years ago he charged 75/ hour for lawn care, would cut, trim, blow and trim bushes. Included him and 4 men. He stayed covered up.
This was before gas went way up and no one wants to work.
He would charge 100/ hour for a "clean up" job, sounds like what yours is.
I would say price it out at 150/ hour and do a good job.
Then 75-80/ hour for maintenance. Spray is extra, haul off is extra.

Like others have said, tons of guys/ companies out there and all are too busy.
Saw a Honda Civic today with 2 push mowers on the roof, a weed eater hanging out the window.
A neighbor has a guy that comes by in a Dodge Challenger with a mower. weed eater and blower in the trunk.

200 won't pay his labor, expenses, nor upkeep, much less allow for a profit.

800 for the first time. at a minimum
My quote I was thinking to. Do a great job if we get it and adjust from there in the future.
