Best .25-06 whitetail round?

I shot this caliber for a long time

I still have many different rounds in the gun safe.

I do believe that the federal premium 117 grain Nosler partition bullet was my favorite.

To this day, this weapon is the most accurate I own. She is a sweet rifle. Model 700 adl with a redfield widefield 3x9. I will never sell it, never. Vintage 70's

I have come to find that there ain't a nickels worth of difference in this caliber than a .270 and the ammo is somewhat cheaper.

Both will zero 1.5 inches high at 100 yards and hold dead on out to 300 yards....which at my age is WAY further than I shoot at deer any longer.

Thanks guys. Surprisingly ammo has been sort of hard to find in my area for .25-06.

To start, I picked up a box of the Hornady Whitetail ammo and a box of Winchester silvertips.

the

Hornady American Whitetail is a great choice.

A bonded bullet by Hornady very similar to Federal Fusion.

Controlled expansion and great weight retention, deadly on thin skinned game, still tough enough to bring down hog or bear.
