Bear spray as a self defense tool?

That's what I was getting at.
The laws in Georgia are so strict about you better be able to prove you were in fear of your life before killing someone.
It would be my bad luck to get sent to prison if I shot somebody.
Also think that once the perp is no longer a threat ex: rubbing eyes laying on ground screaming, if you do anything else to them at that point then you are in the wrong.

I have deployed pepper spray in a prison setting numerous times. My experience is mixed results. It works as advertised sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. It will not incapacitate a person immediately. It also takes around 3 to 5 seconds to have any effect. Prepare to defend yourself during that time. Every time I also received a fair amount.
