Best Place for Tarpon??? And good guide?

I want to go try and catch a big tarpon towards the end of August for my birthday. Where would be the best place to go for that time of year? Also any recommendations on a guide?

In August there's still plenty of Tarpon around on the west coast of Fl ... if 60-100 lb fish is what ur talking about when u say big ... if ur hopeful for a 120-200 lb fish then go May or June around Boca Grande .... 80 to 100 lb fish those months there are very common with a chance at some true beasts ... there's even quite a few Tarpon in southern La in August but most people don't fish them bc there headed out to fill there coolers ... I live on the Eastcoast of Fl and there here in good numbers right now .... our fish are from juvies to 100ish .... one of my buddies is in Boca today trying to get his first poon ..... when they want to participate it is a blast
