I'm New to crossbow shooting as you can tell from my various guestions about bolts range finder and others.
Well one more, does the grease greatly effect the accuracy? I had 3 crossbow sited in very well a week ago, shot yesterday and they were off. I didn't re-grease yesterday as we weren't planning to shoot.

Main thing is to make sure you use LUBE, NOT WAX, on your rail. Also underneath the rail your string guide is a slide, lube that. Keep everything clean. Put a sharpie mark on your strings at the edge of the rail.....make sure they are the same when you cock it. It’s possible it is getting cocked a little sideways and you may have to lube your cocking device....or replace it.

Just a little film on the rail is all you should need for lube, but I will put some on after every 3 or 4 shots.......that string is BLAZING down the rail and the friction has to be tremendous.

Check your accuracy BY arrow.

They vary greatly.

Also, remember you are shooting something the size of a pie plate.

Generally, the nerves of the hunter are a bigger problem than the bow.

I shoot for 50 yard accuracy but in the field execution is probably more important.

Good luck.
