You can still get a shifter on the floor?

As og 2017 the work truck models still had it.

When I got there, they informed me that the Larado comes with the Quadra Track 1, 4x4 system, which is engaged by the vehicle automatically when a wheel starts to slip. With this system, the driver has no control over the 4-wheel-drive!

Your dealer explained the system incorrecly! Read your owners manual, the 4wd never disengages, it runs in full-time 4x4, high range. The only thing that kicks in with wheel slip is that the brake is applied to that wheel by the traction control system.

Be proud of your purchase! You got a good vehicle, that will do everything you want it to do. Your dealer just needs a little more education on their product.
