Do you have to mount a certain type of scope on a muzzle loader or can you put any type of scope on top.

The reason I ask is, I see muzzle loader scopes advertised for sale and manufactures do distinguish between rifle and ML scopes.

o's right, i bought a used .45 optima, at bps they had a mounting kit and bushnell 3x9 scope. i haven't had a problem with the set up.

no problem with any quality scope, just like on a regular rifle.

the nikon, leupy and leatherwood dedicated muzzleloader scopes you see or hear advertised usually have a reticle with multiple aim points that are somewhat preset for typical muzzleloader loads which help keep you from having to hold over at longer distances.

I use a leupold vxIII 3.5x10x50 on mine and it is sighted in at 3" high at 100 yards which will put me about 5" low at 200
