What caliber handgun do you use for whitetail deer?

I knew I would forget at least one. I really want to shoot one with my Eabco BF 6.5 BRM

I have a lot of handguns for hunting, but I have only taken deer with a few of them. The first deer was with a .243 Win Encore barrel and the second was with a 7mm-08 Encore barrel. The most recent handgun deer was taken with a Ruger 10mm revolver and it is my only iron sighted handgun kill so far...

I like the 41 mag almost the power of the 44 mag with the recoil closer to the .357 mag

Got two that i use. Both are Ruger Blackhaws\ks, one in 41 Mag and the other in 45 Colt. Never had a negative issue with either, love em

I have been thinking of getting a handgun myself and trying it. I appreciate this thread. Looked at a Taurus today 357 Mag, Tracker model, 6 inch barrel, stainless. May purchase and see what happens this fall.

You really can’t go wrong with anything from .357 on up for deer with a revolver.

Just starting to want to hunt with hand gun.
Guns I have Blackhawk 357,41,45colt,44mag.Smith and Wesson 500 it’s has scope.
Lots of contenders that are scoped.
What do y’all like using?

I have a 44 caliber 1858 Buffalo Black Powder that I'm going to try out this season.

My first handgun attempt will be during our brief Muzzleloader season and I will be using a David Clements ROA .50 cal conversion

Ruger Redhawk 44magnum. Hunted first time last year with it saw zip ship nothing. So no pictures till the deer do their part and show up.

I have several hand guns that are “deer capable” .
Contenders (30-30,.223, .357 max, 45 colt), revolvers 460 S&W, S&W 57 (.41 mag), RedHawk (.44 mag), and a Glock 40 (10 mm) pistol.
My current go to is the .460 S&W.
It is a huge gun but it shoots very well.

I have a Burris FF3 on mine and it works well. Any of the major brands would work.
One with the “shake to awake” feature that turns it on with any movement would be my next one.
