It’s sad

I became involved with archery hunting when the compound bows had no cams, no fiber optic sights, drop away rests, lighted nocks and no silencers. I can’t remember the speeds back then but it was easy to watch your arrow travel to the deer. All the improvements not only increase the hunters odds of success but also lower the likelihood of wounding an animal. I’m all for the technology.

Everybody, please read and take note of this post. It came about and was added to the rules back 14 years ago. It had gotten to the point that a few insisted on ridiculing and making insulting posts whenever folks would post their kill or catch, and many people quit because of it. It was decided that it was past time to put a stop to such nonsense.

Take it serious, folks. We mean it.

And if you don't believe him, fool around. We'll make sure you find out.

It doesn't matter if it's a young of the year or a 5 year old boss hog. If it's a legal kill you're welcome to post it here and brag on yourself. The same goes for weapons and tactics. If it's legal and it works for you, carry on and we'll all celebrate your success in the woods.

Bashing someone’s kill usually goes something like this…..

Shoots mouth off bashing another members kill.
Finds out login won’t work.
Sends staff an email, “can’t login.”
Staff sends back, “told ya!”

We would much rather celebrate folks legal kills.

It is sad to me that people can’t post their kills that they are obviously proud of without some being envious, jealous and down right hateful. Especially when their kill isn’t killed in a county less populated by people. Like these animals are any less wild than they are in the county “they hunt in” It’s a true shame. I know I feel this way and don’t share near the kills I’m proud of because of this and I am sure I’m not the only one.
I agree with this 100%, no one should have to be judged, one mans trash is another mans treasure
I'm always happy for guys killing great bucks but shooting a buck over a bait pile with a crossbow isn't really hunting. It's killing.
and I agree with this statement also.

I've reached the incredibly dangerous period of my life where I couldn't give 2 shoots what anyone thinks about me, especially in my outdoor ventures. In fact, if you'd like, we can go over a list of possible responses:

Oh you fish with bait? I fish artificial Good for you, bye now
You hunt private land? I hunt public Good for you, bye now
You went guided? I do DIY Good for you, bye now
You used a rifle? I use a bow Good for you, bye now
You sit on a plot in a shooting house? I found a hot scrape and trail in the woods and used my climbing stand? Good for you, bye now
You inherited your money? I started from nothing Good for you, bye now
Your Daddy handed you this business? I started my own Good for you, bye now. And so on.
Yep, unfortunately it's the way of the world now. Some people have an incurable case of "I Have To Be The Man-Itus"

If someone can't be happy for a fellow hunter ,having success regardless of how, what weapon, size or smallness of the animal. As long as it is legal..
Then that says all you will ever need to know about that person...

I'll go ahead and tell ya, y'all ain't gonna like my hunting method. When I see a deer I want I just raise my camo face mask and ugly en to death. Last year I had to start only raising it half way cause I was tearing em up too bad.

It is sad but it is time to go.

My favorite is when folks post deer somebody they don't know kilt. "Other People's Deer (OPD)" Them's the best. This time of year GON and every group text I am in gets flooded wif it.

I did a plot or 3 this day. Had a camera there. U can look at time and dates. Guess I’m lucky to have a place and get to work the area.
Finished plot.

It just ain’t fair. Bet I don’t shoot either one of them. I’ll go ahead down into the bottom and shoot one. Gut it down there and do n my best to drag it up the hill. No sir ree I ain’t shooting it to where I can just pick it up with the truck. I’m a real hunter.

If there is any doubt, read posts #14 and #39 again. We, the Staff, are asking politely. But we will only ask once.

I agree.. Hunting isn't what I remember it to be when I first started. That really wasn't even long ago, but I also feel like social media has a huge influence towards it.

Everything is a competition to some people. I can't stand it. That's why I will also never join a lease with people who do not see things the same way as I do.

I am happy for everyone who legally kills a deer. Whether it's a doe, a spike, or a trophy buck. I don't care if you shot it with a rifle, shotgun, bow, or crossbow. What I do care about is whether it was legally taken or not. I can't stand a poacher or trespasser.

If it makes you happy, shoot it and share the heck out of it! If you let what others think about it affect you, you will never, ever enjoy hunting and what it's all about.
