I grew up in NJ and worked construction in NYC.

Have fun, eat some pizza, some good Italian food. Honk your horn flick someone off, experience it. There is a cop on every corner in prime time NYC. Just look twice before crossing the road as yellow means green in the city.

From my experience, Atlanta is much much more dangerous than NYC, even with a pistol on your side.

And don't stare at people.. its rude

spent a week there in february. awesome time. never felt any danger. went everywhere. cops all over the place.
