Poult Reports: 2023

Wasn't looking good at first over this way but the last few weeks I have gotten several reports of high poult numbers here in the low country of SC.

3 hens, 12 poults

1 hen 7 chicken sized poults

2 hens with at least 4 poults. Grass was tall. (10 miles from the ones I saw yesterday)

Hens have showed back up consistently with no poults.

Have lost track of what is what at our early county lease but we had a strong hatch in the area

Finally seen a few in Troup co . Best I could tell was a few hens and jakes with a few poults .

I saw 2 poults with 2 hens yesterday in Polk county. The poults were only about 6-8” tall. Never seen any that small this time of the year.

Saw a hen this morning with 3 poults not much bigger than quail.

I’ve started getting a single hen on a cam multiple times a day in a clover patch. Curious to see if she shows up with some poults.
