Americans love their personal "deserved" welfare benefits received from America's Socialist programs but hate paying for everybody else's undeserved programs. Most Americans have relinquished responsibility for their life and happily traded it for what politicians will allow them. The corrupt failing Governments from local to Federal that rules over Americans, are nothing more than a reflection of the very people it represents.

Thought it was just a North Carolina problem...Taxes went up 26 percent. Had a county spokesperson say on the local news that just because the tax value went up that it didn't mean the taxes would be higher......sounded just like a lie

Just looked at my assessment. Mine goes up every year, more than I think it should, but this time it's going up 25% from last year. This is hall county. Are y'all seeing this in your neck of the woods?

Send me some addresses or streets for your neighbors that have comparable property to you and I can email you back their tax record's as you will need those when you go to your tax protest meeting. But also be prepared for a potential request from the tax man to come inside your home, too.
My taxes in Cobb County just went from $3600 or so to $1030 as my county gives a school tax break at age 62. Knocked over $200 off my mtg payment too.

I paid mine a month ago or so.
In Coweta County, I have the CUVA, but mine was about 200 less than last year. Dad said kemp gave a property tax refund or decrease or something.
I don't know but I was happy to pay less.
But yes my assessment value did go up and I appealed it again.
I don't care what they think my property is worth, my goal is to pay the least I can.

Yeah, we sold our "white elephant" in Powder Springs. Dad bought it on 2acs. in 1950 for $13,500.00, last years tax was over 4 grand while my house that's 3 time the size on 12 acres just across the line in Paulding was less than half that.

Dropped off mine at the courthouse about an hour ago.

Florida is looking better and better.
For what it costs to live here with basically nothing to do in retirement, I would at least like to be near some good saltwater fishing.

From Florida, it's no different here. My wife says sell it all and move to Tennessee.
The only thing I would miss in Florida is being 1/2 mile from the mosquito lagoon.

We left Woodstock over it. It’s still 4k at the swamp, but our electric bill is dirt cheap under the mossy oaks.

That should equate to a home value of around 550k, it's around 1% here.
