I ventured out today to go check cams at my place. Nothing special to report on cams. We have a severe….. serious bad problem with hogs. They knocked over 3 of my feeders, so now I’m scrambling to figure out what I can do. Pics are showing 20-30 hogs at a time. It’s like a runaway freight train. I can’t hurt the population. Also, a possible bear problem as well. No picture proof, but one hanging feeder, had the sling plate bent down, and all the feed gone. Knee still hurts, but I just had to go check things out. 4 wheeler was a big help.

Signal was terrible but ended up with seeing 7 does and 4 baby bucks. The weather front looks like it should be pushing through tom afternoon and it should really pop off.

Big buck was with a doe in my front yard as I let my German Shepherd go out to the bathroom. Buck just stood there and let the dog get right to him. Ran 50 yds but wouldn’t leave. He ended up sneaking around in a big circle to head toward where the doe went while the dog sniffed around on the ground where the buck was standing

Yeah it was not about the deer. Bad eve at the blackjack table. The only good thing is the money I gave to them was some of the money I took from them but I’m still up on the house

No one in camp brought a buck in although at least 1 good one was seen.

Warm again tomorrow but at least with a very stout breeze which will help knock down the skeeters. I’ll be in a tree for sure.

Thursday is supposed to be much better, but I have some work to do that morning and then it’s on.

Unless of course I go ahead and kill tomorrow

Me and my oldest almost stayed in. Glad we did not. He got to see the wild Midwest during the rut. One really big buck and 13 more. Big boy got to 90 yards but no closer. One of our other stands had a nice buck in front of it as well at 68 degrees F.
